I work with people who are ready for the movement of that deep river – who want to see their lives more clearly and honestly.
I’d like to be a part of your story, not just a witness to it.
Where we are right now is a reference point.
It helps us understand how we’ve orientated ourselves in the past and where we’re going. With that being said, our work together is also about establishing more, new reference points to aid in your conscious expansion of self.
I want to help you shift your orientation toward a life of both surrendering to what is yours to do and to do so through conscious choosing.
Let’s expose the facades of your life and deconstruct them together.

Woah! I have never participated in a men’s group and was nervous to commit to this one. What a gift to myself, my partner, my son, and anyone I interact with. I feel more connected to myself - my power, my kindness, my skills in communicating about real issues, feelings, and needs. I cannot say enough about the location and the leader of this group. Jeffrey held the space, participated, and led us in a really skilled, tender, powerful way.

Jeffrey is an adept listener and is able to illuminate issues with seasoned wisdom and actionable insight. He has helped me recognize and build upon my "superpowers" while understanding the corresponding "shadows." My work with Jeffrey has been indispensable to my personal journey. I've built a stronger compass and capacity for self-reflection. My emotional wellbeing has improved alongside better self-care and creative expression. Thanks to Jeffrey's guidance, I have found another gear in my performance too — since we began working together, I've set 12 Fastest Known Time running records and am now gearing up for a run from NYC to Seattle. The lessons from our work together will fuel and guide me each step of the way. I am grateful for Jeffrey's compassionate counsel and generous guidance.

After going through counseling for my sex addiction and marriage counseling, I was looking for a more deep and meaningful way to grow my self-healing process. I felt like my needs were not getting met with traditional sex addiction men’s group meetings and was looking for something different, something better. After (2) 10-week men’s group sessions with Jeffrey Howard, I feel like I have really not only found what I was looking for, but have also progressed greatly in my self healing process. My wife and family are in a much better place, as well as I feel I am able to connect better with other friends and co-workers on a daily basis. Jeffrey does an amazing job facilitating these groups and his work has helped me move my life forward in an amazing way - thank you Jeffrey!!
Men’s Fire Participant
I found The Men’s Fire to be an experience unlike any other. In the realms of understanding our place in this world as men and human beings, Jeffrey’s facilitation provides a breath of fresh air into a profoundly misguided and miseducated society. Sharing my own experience in an intentional, open space for free expression with other men provided a sense of belonging, a sense of compassion for myself and the other men, and also a deeper understanding of my own patterns. Since we often only see our own deepest thoughts, feelings and patterns from one point of view (our own), sharing them openly and vulnerably gives those patterns less power over us. I came away from the Men’s Fire with a renewed sense of power over my own life - and a new community of trusted men to continue on through this unpredictable adventure of life in a society that deeply requires the healing that Jeffrey’s group can help facilitate.

Having multiple years of experience in facilitating groups, as well as a decade of participation in multiple styles of group work, I experienced one of the highest levels of value and personal growth thus far in my work with Jeffrey James. Jeffrey commands a knowledge and intuition, which so naturally lends to creating a safe and sacred structure; a foundation essential for drawing out the sacred, wild, and whole beings within us. To say that Jeffrey has much to offer the men of the world would be a gross understatement. In a world dominated by old harmful archetypes of “what it means to be a man,” Jeffrey smashes the old temples of occult worship while bringing the men of this world together, in strong medicinal bonds to rebuild our birthright; to be the fearless, fully emotional, and strong beings we are.

Sitting around the fire and co-creating space to listen and share with our hearts has been one of the most valuable experiences I have committed to, a truly heart opening practice that has cultivated both confidence and humility in me. Jeff’s leadership as a guide of such potent work is strong, sensitive, and supportive and I am so grateful to have him as a friend to walk this path alongside.

The men's group I participated in was amazing! It isn't often you have the chance to authentically and vulnerably connect with other men in a safe and supportive environment. Jeffrey did an outstanding job in guiding the group and I know I grew as a man and a human because of it. I'd highlight recommend it to any man!

I tell others that Jeff’s group allowed me to see myself through fresh eyes, to develop a deeper sense of trust in more fully sharing myself with men, and better understand what masculinity means to me. The most memorable part of it was the container of intentionality and space that Jeff creates in the Kiva, around a fire, connected to something primitive and real. I compare it to sitting among wise council – of curious and interesting men who see possibility for living a greater purpose and in deeper relationship.

Have questions? We’ve got you covered.
How can I start the process of working with you?
Simply fill out the 5 question form found on this page and we can go from there.
How do you work?
In a nutshell, I combine my psychotherapy training, with my somatic training (body-centered), and my education and experience as a coach and guide. What this looks like is different for everyone and, loosely speaking, we'll assess what your greatest struggles are in life, look at who you want to be, and collaboratively find ways to help you be more of you more of the time.
How much does it cost to work with you?
That depends. If you're just starting out with me I offer an introductory package. Once that's completed and we determine we're a good fit for deeper work, then we collaborate on a price that is sustainable for you and our work together.
How long does the work take to, well, work?
What does a typical session look like?
Again, this depends on the person, the current and longer-term contexts we're working within, as well as the work that we're in together. Typically, we'll do a mix of sensing, feeling, and sitting with those sensations; identifying narratives, patterns, and destructive behaviors and their origins; and setting new contexts to encourage new growth and change in your life, with the appropriate homework between sessions to put these new ways of being into practice.
How long have you been a practitioner?
I've been a practicing therapist since 2012, the same year I completed my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I've been leading men's groups since 2015, and I've been leading or co-leading community events since 2016.
